Mechanic & Related

We are consolidating our Mechanic & Related resources and employees to help streamline and run a more efficient operation.

 

In order to accomplish this, we are adjusting our classification descriptions to allow us to better utilize our Mechanic & Related employees both at overhaul bases and line maintenance stations.

 

For in-house maintenance, modifying the work rules will improve productivity and lower overall costs. We will also be better positioned to meet operational needs.

 

The company will have the ability to more efficiently use the Overhaul Support Mechanics (OSMs) at maintenance bases. This will provide additional flexibility to utilize our Mechanic and Related employees in the base maintenance operation. We want to use AMTs specifically for work requiring a licensed aviation mechanic and use OSMs for other work that does not require a licensed mechanic.

 

To give additional flexibility, we will consolidate the Aircraft Cleaners and Parts Washers into a new Cleaners classification, effective Sept. 12.
