Over the years, American Eagle and its employees have developed a healthy working relationship and we will continue to work respectfully throughout the restructuring process.
Eagle’s negotiations with its unions are separate from those at American, and the start of our 1113 process was delayed to get better clarity on American’s fleet and business plan going forward. As American has continued to reveal details of its business plan, Eagle has been able to identify some of the cost savings it needs to successfully restructure.
Improving our cost structure now will help ensure we emerge from restructuring stronger and more profitable. We must make the necessary adjustments that will allow us to be successful and regain our leadership position.
